WT Beastie

Henrietta had been busy all day and now she was tired and dragged herself wearily up the ramp to the henhouse. She poked her head in and all was quiet as her companions dozed after a hard days laying, scratching and scraping. Tip-toeing to her box she jumped up onto the front, shuffled the straw around until it was to her liking and lowered herself in. She wriggled around to get comfy when a tiny voice with a Scottish accent shouted from underneath her. ‘Oi, can ya stop doin’ thaat!’

Henrietta’s head whipped around and she looked at her tail perplexed, eyes popping, wondering where the noise had come from.
After a few moments she decided she was dreaming and snuggled down again.
‘Hey, are you no listenin’. Can ya stop yer wriggling?’
Henrietta leaped up and peered down into the straw and saw two dark eyes over a pink nose and the longest, twitchiest whiskers, staring up at her.
‘Who are you,’ she said indignantly, ‘and what are you doing in my box?’
‘A’m WT. Beastie and a’m from Scotland.’
