Pause For Thought

Crunch! Crash! Crisis! These three words were used recently by the media to describe the financial difficulties that the world is currently experiencing. In fact, all of the major banks in Britain have said they will take a more cautious approach to lending this year as turmoil in the housing market, credit and financial woes threaten to push the country into a deep recession.

The trend of relaxed lending by the big banks and building societies in past years will soon disappear over the next two to three years so that the lenders can protect their margins rather than do volume lending.
