My Name is Bill

I have two eyes, two ears, a nose and a mouth, just like you and every other human being on this planet, and yet every single one of us looks completely different from everybody else. Over six billion people and no face is like any other.

This is an amazing thought and I am wondering, what it is that gives each and everyone of us our unique and individual appearance.
Beyond the extremities of nose eyes and mouth there is a personality that gives Bill his individual likeness and character and today we are trying to capture this likeness on a simple sheet of paper. We are about to get an inside look at what happens in one of Theo’s life drawing classes at ‘art in action’.
A group of students are gathered in the studio and everyone is positioning themselves to get an interesting viewpoint of Bill, whose face is illuminated with a spotlight to bring out his features. Ideally your drawing board should be upright and your eyelevel of the same height as that of the model.
