Lebanon

Once described as the Switzerland of the East, with lush cedar valleys, rich heritage and a thriving nightlife, Lebanon was one of the places to visit. Little do people know that some of the world’s most well-known faces have roots in this small country - filmstars Vince Vaughn and Salma Hayek, singers Mika and Shakira to name but a few.

But with the unstable situation, and little future for young people in Lebanon, it was announced last month (March) that thousands of young Lebanese have left the country in the past 12 months to seek new lives in places such as America, Australia and the Gulf. So what does the future hold for one of Cyprus’s closest neighbours and British tourists to the country?
