Our next project was going to be a "tied necklace". I couldn't fathom out how that would work, I knew it would have to be on cord, or ribbon or even leather, but how did you get the beads in the right order and tie knots as well?

When we arrived for our lesson Tricia had got everything we would need laid out on the garden table, all we had to do was choose the cords and beads we wanted to use - and then we watched as Tricia demonstrated how it was done - in her usual efficient manner, insisting it was "easy when you know how!"
I chose two cords of the same colour, decided how long I would like the necklace, marked the halfway point and then measured where I wanted my beads to be, marking the cords as I went along. Then I cautiously tied the first knot in both strands and threaded on two of the beads, tying another knot to stop them unthreadeding.
