Chocolate Heaven

Tucked away in the Troodos Mountains is the beautiful, historical village of Platres, and it is there that we find what we ladies, at least, would call "Chocolate Heaven!" At 29 Archbishop Makarios Avenue, Platres, John and Praxi Adams create their little masterpieces. John, originally from the Sheffield area of South Yorkshire, England, and his Cypriot wife Praxi, started making chocolates for friends and childrens birthday parties, until they found they were making and giving away around 1,000 a week! 

It was then, three years agothat John, who used to be a script-writer, decidedto go to the South of Franceto learn how to make chocolate properly. But he wasn't happy with the results, havingtried chocolate from all over the world he found that the Venezualians make was the best! Some were too sweet and some too bitter, but eventually he found his ideal formulabyadding fresh vanilla. It is now made by a Belgian firm in Holland, and is truly unique Cypruschocolate, dark and creamy and ... wonderful!
