A Very Busy Man

Nik Ashley is a very busy man, apart from helping to run the popular Sussex Bar and Restaurant, on the Dhekelia Road, Larnaca, with his wife Louisa Jane, he is also a keen fisherman. He owns his own boat for sea fishing, but also loves to fish in the many dams and reservoirs dotted around the island.

Nik and his wife have two sons, Thomas aged three and already busy practising his “casting” by the seashore and keen to go with his Dad in the boat, while two-year-old James, who hasn’t quite got to grips with his rod yet, prefers bashing it on the floor!
The family came to Cyprus about three years ago from the Isle of Wight, where at the age of nine Nik started fishing, and while the other boys were playing football he says he would much rather fish! The couple also own a cafe there.
Nik knows a lot of fellow anglers and is planning to form the Sussex Angling Society, he says he has 20 interested people already and is holding a meeting at the Sussex Restaurant on Thursday, March 6, starting at around 7pm, when all anglers, or would-be anglers, will be very welcome. The aim is to get together and help each other with lifts, advice, tackle etc.
