By Paula Gray.

The first student art exhibition of the Cyprus College of Art, Larnaca opened to great success on March 17 and showcased a varied and eclectic array of art work from students of the college from all over the world

Officially opening the exhibition, which runs until April 17, was eminent Cypriot sculptor Kikis Pataslos. Kikis, whose work includes the statue of Kimon on the Larnaca promenade, said he was overwhelmed to be opening an exhibition of such a high creative calibre and expressed his admiration for the student’s evident talent and hard work.
The Cyprus College of Art was founded in 1969 by the world renowned Cypriot artist Stass Paraskos, the only artist born in Cyprus to have work exhibited at London’s Tate Gallery. Stass has exhibited across the UK since 1959, and in other countries including the USA and India as well as teaching art.
